In 1988, Thomas W. Gilbert founded Gilbert Architects. His goal was to assemble a team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals who would specialize exclusively in the design of outstanding educational facilities. Since that time, Gilbert Architects has designed over 100 major school projects valued at over a billion dollars, in scores of cities throughout its region. Gilbert Architects incorporated in February 2003.

As a testament to the quality of our work and our ability to meet owner expectations, Gilbert Architects has provided services for 68 different school districts and 80 percent of our work is for repeat clients. This level of client satisfaction speaks volumes to our abilities and to the passion we bring to each and every project.

In addition to our technical expertise and vision, we pride ourselves in our ability to team with school administrators, teachers, and community members to ensure project success. Our proven track record for exceeding client expectations is directly related to our commitment to a team approach to the design process. We feel that active participation by the client and open communications help to ensure that expectations are identified, defined, and met.

In addition to its Lancaster office, Gilbert Architects also has offices in Delaware and Maryland with a combined staff of over 50 dedicated professionals.
