Lead Engineer: Electrical or Mechanical
Gilbert Architects is seeking a highly motivated lead engineer (electrical or mechanical) with at least five years of experience to oversee our engineering department, guide teams, manage projects, and ensure technical excellence.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and coordination of building systems including power systems, lighting, fire alarm, security, and audio/visual systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing systems.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers across multiple projects.
- Manage engineering workflows to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to code.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and owners to align project goals.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field (required).
- Minimum five years engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams or managing engineering projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP (preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure (preferred but not required).
