Enhancing an existing school
Frequent additions over six decades left Abington Senior High School struggling with space and traffic flow as student enrollment climbed.
To modernize the campus and establish a true 9–12 grade model, Abington School District partnered with our team to expand the facility, bringing 9th graders over from the junior high and aligning the school with 21st-century learning goals.
Expanded academics + creative tech
A new two-story classroom wing establishes clear departmental hubs, streamlining student movement and giving academic disciplines dedicated space to grow.
Fine arts classrooms sit alongside science and technology environments to support interdisciplinary learning, while a second-floor TV studio, digital media labs, and dedicated photography spaces expand the school’s media curriculum.
The project also converted outdated science labs into social studies classrooms and integrated learning support spaces across all wings.
Reconfigured services, dining, + athletics
Guidance offices moved to a central hub, the nurse’s suite expanded, and department offices now sit alongside classroom clusters to encourage faculty collaboration.
Kitchen storage expanded into the former faculty dining area, while new cafeteria kiosks speed up service lines.
Outside, a secondary addition added an auxiliary gymnasium over lower-level terrain, capturing space underneath for stadium-adjacent locker rooms, storage, and a dedicated athletic entrance.
