West York Area High School

Modernizing a legacy campus
To accommodate 10-year projected enrollment growth and upgrade aging infrastructure, our team led comprehensive renovations and additions across the campus, originally built in 1956 and updated in phases through 2000.
The project prioritized heightened building security by establishing a dedicated main entry vestibule that requires all visitors to check in before gaining access to academic wings. Enhanced technology-rich classrooms and state-of-the-art science laboratories were added to expand educational opportunities and support growing class sizes.
Premier athletic facilities
Major modifications to the athletic complex addressed heavily used, undersized spaces to better serve student-athletes and regional events:
-
Competition gymnasium: A multi-level arena offers seating for 1,750 spectators, encircled by an upper-level 1/10th-mile running track that doubles as bleacher access.
-
Dedicated locker suites: Expanded team locker rooms, a specialized training room, and a modernized weight room support daily physical education and varsity sports.
-
Direct stadium access: Lower-level field rooms provide quick, streamlined access directly to the adjacent stadium.

Expanded dining and performing arts
The cafeteria was expanded into the original choral suite to increase seating capacity and streamline serving lines for the student body.
To strengthen the performing arts program, a new dedicated choral room was constructed directly adjacent to the existing band room, creating a centralized, cohesive music wing for rehearsals and department collaboration.
