Council Rock High School South
Master-planned for district growth
Built as the district’s second high school to support a realignment to grades 9–12, this new facility was designed to accommodate 2,000 students while core assembly and administrative areas were pre-sized for 2,400 to streamline future expansion.
Situated on a 140-acre campus, the site incorporates extensive athletic fields designed for dual use by both high school programs and the local community.
“Mind, Body, and Soul” spatial layout
The building architecture translates a “Mind, Body, and Soul” design concept into three distinct operational wings, giving each function a dedicated identity.
The academic wing anchors daily instruction, the performing arts wing supports creative programs, and a comprehensive wellness center serves physical education with an indoor running track, competition and auxiliary gymnasiums, weight rooms, wrestling facilities, and team spaces.
Flexible interiors + site infrastructure
Designed with long-term adaptability in mind, the open floor plate allows academic spaces to easily reconfigure as instructional methodologies evolve.
Beyond the building footprint, the project executed major site infrastructure upgrades, such as widening existing roadways, adding dedicated turning lanes, improving signalization, and constructing two new collector roads to optimize traffic flow and increase safety along the main campus access points.
