Blending aesthetics + security

Replacing an outdated 1950s structure on a compact five-acre site, the new two-story, 550-student facility modernizes the campus for full-day kindergarten through fourth grade.

Our team angled the building along an east-west axis to soften its scale within the surrounding residential community while preserving mature trees and adding native landscaping.

The consolidated footprint clears crucial land for off-street parking and separate vehicle drop-off loops. To prioritize safety, all exterior doors remain locked during school hours, directing visitors through a single secure vestibule into the main administrative suite.

Sustainable design + smart stormwater management

Achieving LEED Silver certification, the school leverages its east-west orientation to maximize natural daylight while incorporating an energy-efficient HVAC system, motion-controlled lighting, and materials made from recycled or regional content.

Outside, green site design mitigates runoff through underground detention basins, bio-gardens, rainwater recapture systems, porous rubber playground surfacing, and permeable parking pavement.
